Daily African Alignment™

Preparation for Alignment with the Ancestors

The following Alignments begin the process of change and healing.

1. Formulate goals — Develop a new paradigm for yourself. See a new vision of yourself and your surroundings. Associate with people who fit your new vision. Return to your list. Revise and re-vision your self-image as necessary.

2. Formulate affirmations — Say affirmations out loud each morning about the new you ... here and now ... today. Don’t speak about an inexact future. Then say it aloud. Claim that reality now! For example, you could say, “I am healthy and happy and today is brighter than yesterday!”

3. Visualize your goals as accomplished — See the reality you want now. Dress and act as if all that you want is already accomplished.

4. Associate with like minded, positive people — Avoid negative speech and negative thoughts about yourself and others.

5. Pray to your ancestors and to the Creator — Include prayers for the entire world, for peace, for freedom, and for equality.

6. Meditate — Sit in meditation in order to become aware of who you are.

7. Show gratitude — Make offerings and give gifts to those in spirit and those embodied.

The decision to return to an indigeneous religion and culture begins with a deep exploration of self. Who are you? Know this before you begin the journey and save yourself a lot of confusion. Alignment with the divine is the ultimate goal. Your Ori is your sense of self in the present moment. Contact and veneration of your Ori and your Ancestors opens the door to peace in your present life!
