Shango, Sango, Xango, Chango

These are some of the variations of spellings of the Orisha of thunder and lightning. Shango was the legendary fourth king of Oyo who hung himself and eventually was elevated to deity. He is the embodiment of masculinity. He is known for his violent temper, swift justice, interest in magic, love of the drum and dance. His number is six, his colors are red and white and is fond of bananas, okra and rum.
