History resources of the second most populous continent are the focus of this page. The changes in African history are as stated in the Preface to Margaret Shinnie's from the 1960's Ancient African Kingdoms "More recently, the study of Africa in all its aspects has been intensified, many textbooks have appeared, and African Universities and their students now naturally demand that much of what is taught should be African in content."
