Nigerian Music
African music had it's shining star in the charismatic musician Fela Kuti.
His mother Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti I, was the first Nigerian lady to drive. She was the First woman politician probably, in Africa and a women's right activist in the early 1900's.
Afrobeat is the distinctive form of music that Fela Kuti pioneered. His passion was transferred into a national movement for corruption reform in Nigeria that is still powerful to this day.
