Zamani Productions: Small run digital DVD production economics!

At times we are asked about production and why our DVD's cost so much!

At times we are questioned about the cost of our products. The thinking seems to be that our products should be cheaper than Hollywood releases. After all we are only spending thousands while Hollywood spends millions.

That’s certainly true but take the logic a step further and you are faced by the fact that the Hollywood feature has already made millions before it is released to DVD and now will sell and rent many millions of copies worldwide. Zamani Productions is a niche educational producer and will be lucky to sell enough copies to cover production expenses.

As a 501(c)3 non profit organization we do what we do because we think it is important. To date we have never covered out of pocket expenses much less drawn a salary. Let’s take a more detailed look at the time, money and equipment that is in our productions.
